I'm going to let you all in on a not so secret. Philip and I both have some serious OCD. Mine is usually most apparent when I can't find my blue pen at work that is sooo close to being used up and freak out and go looking for it, or like at Enrichment on Thursday when I rearranged the food table to make things flow more efficiently while those around me just watched in almost disbelief. I often then apologize to those around me by saying, "I'm sorry that I'm the way that I am."
Welcome to my life. But then, to make things better, Philip is almost as bad as I am, but just in different ways. His is more like an organized display form of the disorder. He likes things displayed in an organized manner. So here's where this ties in.
Last night after we got dinner, we were going to go to the movies, but there wasn't a time that we wanted, so we headed over to the W-Mart to buy a movie instead. So all was going according to plan, but then he couldn't find anything he really wanted. So I said that I just wanted to look at the ribbon real quickly before we left, and as we were walking there, he saw the $5 DVD bin. And this is what resulted, for a delightfully low price.
Here's the thing though, we've all walked by those bins and only seen like "Look Who's Talking" and other weird talking baby movies of that sort. How did he find so many? Well here's where his OCD comes in to play.
Whenever Philip sees these enormous piles of very random, very disorganized movies in all of their WalMart disorganized and trashy glory, he takes it upon himself to start stacking them. Then after he stacks them and starts getting a little more room, he will make rows and rows of movies, and move around all four sides of the 4 foot x 4 foot metal crate, thus finding good movies for cheap, and creating a small masterpiece that will help all of the WalMart shoppers for the next 1 hour and 23 minutes, until it gets ridiculously messy again. Welcome to my very OCD husband and therfore life. It's a good time.
Anyways, long explanation I don't blame you if you skipped it. Um, for Project Friday yesterday we went swimming, which was a fabulous time. I forgot to take my camera to the pool, but Sara did so look on her blog for pictures of all the kids in the next few days, but Oakley thought he was a pimp for standing up by himself yesterday. Unfortunately, the pictures we tried to take of it were all at the wrong times, so we have him standing with help, but I swear he doesn't need it.
Oh, and he has a cheeze-it in his mouth, not orange teeth. You're welcome Sara, I'm sure you wouldn't want people thinking your baby has gross dirty teeth.
Anyhoo, have I mentioned before how much I love summertime? Because I do. A lot. More than most I think. So yeah, that's been my weekend thus far, with not much else exciting going on that I know of. So have a Tickle-Me-Terrific Weekend friends!
