So um, I've read a few books lately and thought I would share.
First up...
I bought this because Sara said that she heard it was good and told me to read it and report. Then a little while later, Aly said, "Yeah, so you should read The Other Bolero Girl and tell us how it is." I laughed really hard. So anyways, I got it about two weeks ago, just to have something to fill my time when not studying, and accidentally got really into it and had to make myself stop reading so that I could do school stuff. But I finished it last night and it was really good. It is kind of scandalous...and a little racy, like not something I would suggest reading for ward book club or anything. But it is captivating, and the almost 700 pages flew by. If you read it, be prepared to be somewhat amazed/appalled/shocked at times. But like I said, kind of scandalous so don't judge me for liking it so much. And now we are going to watch the movie because Philip really likes (LOVES) Natalie Portman.

Next up...
Meh. First off, it is about a girl being raised by her white trash and super dysfunctional family and how her parents chose to be basically homeless. It sounds more interesting than it really is. The first few chapters were interesting and whatnot, but it just dragged on and I got tired of hearing about her growing up and I got tired of her family. It was only a couple hundred pages and it took me two months to read. One good thing though is that it has short chapters. I really like short chapters.

And lastly...
Yes it's SciFi, and no it's not a Choose Your Own Adventure. I really REALLY liked this book. It is kind of a Harry Potter-esque type story but it is set in the future and is about a brilliant boy and him going to flight/space school. I was quite amazed at the fact that though it was written in the 70's, it didn't seem cheesy futuristic like with flying cars and robot dogs and stuff. I thought it was as realistic as SciFi can basically be and I really liked the character and that he wasn't made out to be perfect or anything. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
Sooo, I'm looking for a new book or four to read on my two week break coming up. Does anyone have any suggestions? And please don't suggest Stephanie Meyer stuff, because I never read Eclipse because I was tired of Bella by the end of the second book, and I don't want to read The Host because I'm not in the mood. But other than that, I'm up for almost anything.
