So it's been a while, eh? Right after we got back from Utah in October, my camera broke, so I've been using my phone, and truthfully, it just isn't terribly convenient to get tons of pictures off my phone. And I currently have hundreds of pictures on my phone, so for now we'll do a brief update, and I'm determined to get all 700 pictures from all three cameras that I now have on to our computer. So without further adieu:
I planted rye grass this year! It was my first try, and it looked lovely for about 6 weeks. And now it's kind of not. Better luck next year, huh?
We had yet another Jones Cousin Christmas party, and those are always amazing.
Christmas was truly magical. Philip and I had so much fun this year and kind of spoiled each other to death. Though I won't lie, it wasn't the same without my parents here, so figuring out how to make things feel normal was a trick, but it was a lovely Christmas just the same.
But a few weeks later my parents came to town! It was so good to have them here for a weekend and I spent every possible minute tagging along with them and soaking up their presence. And in true best grandma ever fashion, my mom doled out pixy stix to everyone to keep them happy.
In early January I kind of flooded our backyard with the irrigation. Usually the water doesn't even come close to the top of those bricks, but when our time to irrigate is from 3:30-4:30 AM, and I want to go back to sleep in that hour, when I woke up at 4:30 to turn it off, I was watering our fake grass. Go me.
And that brings us almost to date, as earlier this week we got back from an AMAZING trip to Hawaii! It was a trip that we had wanted to take forever, and had been planning for months, and I can hardly believe that its already over. More details and approximately 800 more pictures to follow.
And this morning, I got a new microwave! Ours stopped working several weeks ago, and you would not believe how much it effected my life. I already cook VERY little as is, and now throw in that the mix, the only thing that I had left that I could make was biscuits and gravy and muffins. Therefore, we had a lot of breakfast for dinner, and a lot more of Salsa Cabana and Filiberto's.
But we're back in action now! And remember how much I hated my old microwave? It had no 30 second button or turn table! It was terrible, one of the few things I didn't like about our house, so aside from the inconvenience factor, I was not sad about the old one dying. And now I love my new one so much, so happy day indeed! Now if I could just get the postal service to put a mailbox in my front yard, we could scratch another thing off that dang list. :)
