Party at our house, finally continued.

Well, we are one tiny step closer to getting our house in order. We have been working on the office for at least a year, and finally have all the little details together to call it done! So here is the view upon entering:

 And of course, a few details. This is the very first shelf and little section that I put up, and it is still a favorite. Philip originally asked if I wanted to hang my diploma next to his and I had to laugh, because mine would look like an index card next to his! Apparently the size of your diploma is directly related to the type of degree, so his doctorate is a poster, my associates is a post-it note.

 I copied the idea for the cloud picture from Erica, who will forever be my inspiration. And then the mountain-y print is one I took in Hawaii of the Napali cliffs. I wanted to just use a frame I already had though and you would not believe how ridiculously hard it was to find somewhere that would print an 18x24. Why should it be that hard? It shouldn't, it was stupid.

 I kinda love these jars of junk. I got the marbles from my mom when she was moving, and wanted other stuff that was similar in nature, so I found a random assortment of dice on Amazon that I love, and then the tiny Slinky's are from the Target dollar spot. I love that they are all game-esque.

 This, now THIS, my friends, is my pride and joy and took waaaaay too long. I got this map and fell in love with it. The tricky thing is that it is a stupid size. Like won't fit in any normal frame. And then I had all sorts of ideas and went back and forth on how I wanted to display the map, and pictures corresponding with places on the map that we've visited. I ended up deciding on having a frame made, then getting a magnet board cut to fit the frame, and doing printed pictures around the map. Now this sounds easy enough when all typed out in a sentence or two, but it seriously took like 8 months from the time that I finally decided on what I want to the time that I got this thing hung on the wall. And so rightly so, this thing is a labor of love.

And THAT, in a nutshell is what took a solid year to finish. Now, we're off to start on the front room, which at this rate, will be finished in approximately 2016. But have I mentioned before that I love our house? :)
